"For All" Benevolence Fund

The week following the 2025 inauguration, I launched my first training/action group for people committed to generative activism, advocacy and civic engagement. Each member is doing what they can to make us a better society in ways that only they can, from combating poverty to fostering community, from registering voters to keeping people safe, from organizing marches to detoxifying culture.

But there’s a quandary; the same new laws that are making their efforts so necessary are also making the aid some of them are offering illegal, which means they’re not in a position to be at all public about what they’re doing. That also rules out traditional fundraising methods that require a level of transparency they can’t provide. And that’s before getting to the rapidly rising needs due to both rent and cost-of-living increases and nationwide cuts to programs serving the poor.

To help with all this, I established the For All Benevolence Fund. Structuring it as a church benevolence fund means that donations qualify as tax-deductible, while, at the same time, protecting the confidentiality of those the fund is assisting. If you’d like to know more about the fund and how it’s being used, or if you have questions or suggestions, if you want to find out about the next action group, or just want to be in touch, I can be reached at lettersfromabirminghamboy@substack.com.
